I could be here telling you my life story, like the day I scrapped my knee at school and my first crush, however, let’s cut those out so I don’t embarrasse myself too much. My name is Rodrigo, I’m Portuguese and, you guessed it, this is my business and website!
I studied music for 8 years, having gone through Classical and Jazz and learning how to play several instruments and sing (please don’t ask me to play anything, let’s just say it’s not quite like riding a bike..).I then worked for some years for Vodafone Business (having worked before that in a tech shop where I learned quite a bit) before moving to Lisbon to join the Google Ads project.
The idea for this business started growing on me while I was still working in that Google Ads corporate office, I probably even called some of you to schedule a meeting, but the reality is that, very soon after starting that job, I realized there was something missing there.. I then came to the conclusion that it was the human connection and, most of all, actually understanding a business, their costumers, their owners and doing everything that is possible to actually make things better for the client and not only for the corporate pocket. I then met some people that really helped me get things started, especially with the confidence, and I have been working ever since with clients from different markets and parts of the country.
Some of the things I learned along the way:
- Budget is not everything. It’s important to have a good budget, but it’s not everything.
- Website structure is one of the most important things. If the website’s structure is good, if it loads fast (mobile and desktop), if it’s secure and if it has all the good call to actions and contrasts in colors, you’ll be several steps closer to getting more leads/sales.
- Bidding Strategies are not the same for everyone of everything, and the same applies to campaigns. One client might really get the most out of a search campaign while another really needs to have a more video/image asset focused campaign to get results. The point is, you are not the same as your next door neighbor so don’t keep thinking you have to do the same things he does.
I could be here talking forever and my clients can testify to that, but I wanted to leave one last note here.
Don’t be afraid of change and be patient!
Most people fail for not being patient with their ads and also for not having the courage to try something new.
